The Senate recently passed the Water for the World Act. Urge the House to vote in favor of providing water for the world's poor!

Tell the House: Pass the Water for the World Act of 2010!

In 2005, Congress passed the Paul Simon Water for the World Act, helping increase U.S. funding for water, sanitation and hygiene programs by 45%. Yet, close to one billion people in the world do not have access to safe drinking water, and the combination of inadequate sanitation and the lack of clean water are responsible for over two million deaths annually. An amended version of this bill (S. 624) was passed by the Senate in September 2010, with provisions that would enable 100 million additional people to have access to clean water by 2015.

Now S. 624 is sitting back in the House for final voting. Though the passage in the Senate was a great success, we still need to lend our support to this bill so that the House of Representatives will sign off on it. Support Senators Richard Durbin and John Kerry and ask them to strongly urge the House to pass the bill in the efforts to bring clean water to the world. **Sign the petition below and tell a friend.**
