Project Peril: Help Save the Bumblebee
SKU: SKU: SK-144844
The magnificent bumblebee is an integral part of our food system. Two-thirds of the world's crops are pollinated by animals, with bees being the most prevalent and important pollinator. Bombus affinis, commonly known as the rusty patched bumblebee, is endemic to North America. In the midwest and north-east America, the rusty patched bumblebee population has declined by a staggering 87%. It was recently announced that the rusty patched bumblebee would be declared endangered, making it the first endangered bee in the continental U.S.
However, the new administration is delaying placing the rusty patched bumblebee on the endangered species list. This means the rusty patched bumblebee will not receive extra federal protections it desperately needs.
We must do what we can to save rusty patched bumblebee and all other species of bumblebees. This means addressing the major threats to bumblebees, including habitat loss and pesticide use. Project Peril is committed to working with the best non-profits to combat bumblebee decline. We will work with our partners to teach farmers and communities how to plant bee-friendly flowers and implement bee-friendly practices, engage communities in bee identification, and raise awareness about bees locally.
Your help is needed URGENTLY! Your donation will go to Project Peril, a GreaterGood.org program to save the rusty patched bumblebee.
About Project Peril:
