Four years ago, 25,500 children died every day from preventable causes. Today that number is 22,000. That's 2,000 fewer than just one year ago and proof that the lifesaving interventions provided by UNICEF and its partners in over 150 countries are working. We are now closer than ever before to the day when **ZERO** children die from preventable causes, like pneumonia, malaria, or measles.

This is encouraging news, but it is not the whole story. UNICEF's mission has always been to reach the most vulnerable children. We are redoubling our efforts to invest in the lives of the most underserved, and we need the U.S. government's help to translate this investment into saved lives.
