Unfortunately, many children in Haiti are robbed of their childhood because they are forced to live a life of slavery and servitude. Restavecs, as they are called, are removed from everyday society and kept as personal servants. They don't get the chance to socialize with their peers or receive an education. When these children become adults, they are often tossed out onto the streets with no skills to help them rebuild their lives.

All of the world's children should be given opportunities to learn, grow, and play with their friends. They should not be subjected to manual labor and harsh treatment by slave owners who keep them for their own selfish reasons. **Sign the petition asking UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to promote the establishment of programs and services in Haiti that would help children become functional and productive members of society, not domestic servants.**
