Bullying has long-been a problem for children in American schools. It has caused much unnecessary anguish for many kids, and has even gone so far as to provoke some to take their own lives. Recently, bullying has soared to greater lengths and higher peaks as Facebook, Myspace, and the general accessibility of the Internet has made it easier than ever before to defame people online. And the audiences associated with Internet use are vast, so it's easy to put someone on display in front of all of their peers.

With bullying becoming more frequent and critical than it's ever been, we need federal legislation that will address the problems of bullying and provide funding for schools to implement programs to deal with them.
