Tig is our third rescue straight from the street and into our home.

One lovely summer day, as we were walking back to the car, I heard this strange sound. Like a crow with a sore throat. Not many people walk by, but cars do drive by. We stopped and listened, and I heard it again. We really weren't sure what kind of animal it was, but it was surely in distress, as the sound was coming from an overgrown thorny bush.

My partner braved the wild. As she moved one branch, the whole bush (a large bushy area) moved, it was that thick. It was quiet, and we thought of leaving after a 10-minute search - maybe we had heard wrong - but as she moved another branch, a little furry creature looked up at her. He was so tiny. Of course, we took him, straight to the vet first.

He was so malnourished and dehydrated the vets thought he was almost a full month younger, and he had a bug ugly gash on his hind paw that needed treatment for 10 days, with scrubbing and antibiotic shots.
He's all grown up now, but stayed a smaller cat. If it gets colder outside, he starts sneezing and crawling under our blankets. He is such an affectionate and silly kitty that everyone who meets him loves him right away. As you can see on the photo, he loves to sit like that on my lap for some cuddles and a nap.

Now that another member of the family is almost due, he doesn't mind the kicks coming from his favorite nap spot. We'll soon be a family of six, three humans and three furries.
