Med Student Interviews Colleagues About The Amount Of Debt They're Taking On
That is what came about when a regular TikTok user named William spoke about his life in medical school. If you have been following his videos in the past, you realize that he has a tendency to go viral but the latest video has seen over 3 million views in that short time.
The video is about the debt that he and his colleagues face as a result of medical school. It also goes on to talk about the debt that other students are facing in just a few years as well.
When the video was posted, many people were excited because it was very transparent. If you don't have any idea what these medical students are paying to go to school, it may just be shocking to you.
Student issues have been the basis for many videos recently on TikTok. It's interesting, regardless of whether you happen to be a med student or not.
The video posted by William took a behind-the-scenes look at his college life and spoke about exactly how broke he and his fellow students are.
Some of the classmates he interviewed in the video were very straightforward when it came to the debt that they were amassing. It goes beyond what William has spent to be in medical school, some of them said that they would owe $300,000 or $400,000 by the time they graduated!
It seems as if it isn't too far out of the ballpark, because the median debt of med school students was posted in 2019 by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). On average, they said that a med students would have about $200,000 in debt.
@will_ill we’re so broke it’s actually insane #fyp #medschool ♬ Elevator Music - Bohoman
That debt may also be larger if they go to a private school in comparison to one of the public 4-year medical schools. They could end up paying about $80,000 more for one of those private schools each year.
