Your donations of pet food and supplies through Greater Good Charities’ GOODS Program are transforming the lives of shelter dogs, like Sadie.

A very thin and ragged looking golden retriever mix arrived at a high-kill shelter in Oklahoma. She was pregnant and a plea for help was sent out to rescue groups.

Pups & Promises Animal Rescue arrived late one Friday afternoon and pulled the skinny dog moments before she was to be euthanized.

She was named Sadie and taken in by a foster family. The sweet dog was given a warm bath and a soft blanket to sleep on.

When her foster mom awoke the next morning, she heard a whimper and realized that Sadie had given birth to four puppies.

An hour later, she gave birth to four more for a total of eight. Sadie was so malnourished and underweight that she couldn't produce enough milk to feed all of her puppies.

The rescue told us, "8 pups for a thin, already debilitated mommy, was overwhelming for her. She did the best she could! When she could no longer produce enough milk for the hungry pups, Pups and Promised received this great donation of puppy milk."

Thanks to your donations, the puppies were fed milk replacement and are now thriving.

Sadie is also slowly gaining weight and is the best mom. This adorable family was rescued just in time and is grateful for your help.

The rescue said, "Great timing! This donation really helped to save these pups lives! (Pups were named, Garth, George, Toby, Shania, Martina, Leanne, Faith and Miranda. The "country singer pups")".

Follow Pups & Promise Animal Rescue for more updates on Sadie and all her puppies.

GOODS lends a helping hand to overwhelmed shelters and rescues by sending much-needed pet food, treats, and supplies. Thank you for your continued support.
