The Thomasville-Thomas County Humane Society, Inc. (TTCHS) is the largest non-profit animal welfare organization in Thomasville, GA, Thomas County, and southeastern Georgia. Our open admission animal shelter provides a temporary home and services to abandoned, homeless, lost, and abused pets. We also contract with the local government to provide animal control services to Thomas County, GA and its seven municipalities. A group of local animal welfare advocates founded and incorporated our Thomasville animal shelter in 1970. Today, we carry on their mission and are committed to ensuring the humane care of the animals in partnership with our community. Because we are independent, we rely on individual contributions, grants, and fundraising efforts. Beyond monetary contributions, the Thomasville-Thomas County Humane Society also relies on volunteers to continue serving the community. TTCHS received its exemption from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code in January 1978 and maintains registration as a Charitable Organization in Georgia through the Secretary of State, Professional Licensing Boards and Securities Division.

Greater Good Charities and The Animal Rescue Site are joining NBC and Telemundo stations’ Clear The Shelters pet adoption campaign to support shelters and rescues across the country by encouraging individuals to donate funds to help animal welfare groups with the most critical needs.
Each summer, shelters and rescues face an added stress on their resources from increases in puppy and kitten intakes due to spring litters. In 2022 shelters are reporting higher than normal intake rates, with unprecedented overpopulation in some areas. They need you now.
