Bideawee was established in 1903 – since that time we’ve been a leader in the no-kill shelter movement. Bideawee began as a small facility that housed only 200 dogs throughout the early 1900s and has grown to three sites, one in Manhattan and two on Long Island. We now place more than 2,000 animals in loving homes, have 4,000 animal hospital visits per year, and provide a peaceful resting place to more than 65,000 animals at our pet memorial parks. Over the last several years, Bideawee has become a truly transformed organization – we’ve more than doubled our adoptions and developed collaborations to increase our reach in the community.
