Guam Animals In Need (GAIN), Inc. came into existence in an effort to improve the lives of homeless animals on Guam. Since 1989, GAIN has operated as a local non-profit 501(c)(3) and as the island’s only animal shelter, finding new homes for 15,000+ pets with the unwavering help and dedication of its volunteers and staff. Every animal picked up on island – whether injured, abused, lost, or feral – comes to our facility. GAIN is also more than just a shelter; it is an organization dedicated to the prevention of cruelty to animals, and to the education of the public concerning matters pertaining to animals and their welfare. Our shelter has facilities to house and care for dogs and cats, and provides food, shelter, and basic medical care. For over 30+ years, GAIN has worked to accomplish its mission: to prevent cruelty to animals, promote the humane treatment of animals and perpetuate the bond between humans and animals.

Greater Good Charities and The Animal Rescue Site are joining NBC and Telemundo stations’ Clear The Shelters pet adoption campaign to support shelters and rescues across the country by encouraging individuals to donate funds to help animal welfare groups with the most critical needs.

Each summer, shelters and rescues face an added stress on their resources from increases in puppy and kitten intakes due to spring litters. In 2021 shelters are reporting higher than normal intake rates, with unprecedented overpopulation in some areas. They need you now.
