The Montessori method of education is an amazing way for children to learn at their own pace and through their own mistakes. In Mexico City, most Montessori schools are private and located in the most affluent areas of the city and can be very expensive to attend. This makes it almost impossible for children of low income households to have access to this amazing method of education. Casa de los Niños de Palo Solo is one of the only Montessori schools in Mexico City specifically working to teach low income children. Casa de los Niños de Palo Solo was founded in 1980 and is located in the marginalized area of Huixquilucan, State of Mexico in Mexico City. They currently support 225 low income boys and girls between the ages of 2 and 12 years of preschool and elementary school based on the Montessori philosophy. For almost 40 years Casa de los Ninos de Palo Solo has supported low income students to learn at their own pace.
