Recycled Dog Food Ornament

Producing handmade pieces from recycled materials, Mitz, based in Chimalhuacán, Mexico, serves the community and supports the environment. Its Development center is equipped for artisans to work safely within the center, but this model also allows the employees to work at home, so they can care for their families. Since 2018, Mitz has been a part of the World Fair Trade Organization, which certifies institutions around the world that pay fair salaries and provide correct tools, training and conditions for staff members to perform their job.

Each beautifully handmade product not only contributes to the health of the environment through the use of industrial waste material, but it is a holistic boost to the development of the city of Chimalhuacán. Mitz provides job opportunities, as well as education in human development programs, and artisans are encouraged to grow into entrepreneurs through their completion of their programs. With the profits from sales, they fund scholarship for kids in the community, making sure they have access to an even broader range of opportunities in the future!
