Girls' Voices: Empower Girls In Uganda With Modern Technology

Girls in Uganda need your help to build a better future for themselves. Give a girl in need access to the education she deserves through Girls' Voices media training program!

The goal of Girls' Voices, a Signature Program of GreaterGood.org, is for girls around the world to connect to their voice, their dreams for their education, and use the power of digital media to create images, stories, and visual metaphors that can communicate their strength and potential to the world. The girls at PMM School in Uganda not only made videos about their lives but are now using video-based projects in all aspects of their education thanks to the media training they've received through Girls' Voices.

However, the PMM school does not have the equipment needed for the students to effectively learn using these technologies. The students involved in project-based learning programs have a technical gap; they don't have video cameras or laptops that they can flexibly use for editing their media and other project activities. They have to rely on the school's PCs that are stationed in the computer lab which everyone in the school uses as well. This creates congestion in the lab and prevents them from effectively completing their projects. The girls also have to rely on hired video cameras for a limited time which is costly. The end result is limited exposure to these technologies and a restriction in learning. With your help, we can provide laptops and video cameras for these girls, allowing them to continuously learn and grow without any technological barriers.
