From Her Voice, For Her Education - Jaeney
SKU: SKU: SK-143463
Jaeney needs $360 for meals while she attends Tohono O'odham High School in San Simon Village, Tohono O'odham Indian Reservation, Arizona.
Girls' Voices, a signature program of GreaterGood.org, is working with The Native American Advancement Fund to help Jaeney and her classmates attend school!
Just $238.00 MORE NEEDED!
Jaeney lives at home with her mother, grandfather, disabled aunt, cousin, and two dogs. She enjoys playing sports and traveling to other villages, where she can share traditional songs and dances. The school she attends is 20 miles from her village, and the transportation to and from school is unreliable, forcing her to wake up early each day to catch the bus, and take the hour and a half ride to school.
The people in Jaeney's village are among the poorest in the U.S., and most of her peers struggle to have enough food. This constant, gnawing hunger makes it difficult for students like Jaeney to focus and excel in their education.
With your help, you can provide Jaeney with food and help her achieve her dream of becoming a film maker!
Consider making a monthly gift. When you give just $10 monthly, you ensure Jaeney or another girl in Arizona can carry her through school
Girls' Voices is a Signature Program of GreaterGood.org intended to raise funds for girls' secondary education through media made by girls. Our goal is for girls around the world to connect to their voice, their dreams for their education, and use the power of digital media to create images, stories, and visual metaphors that can communicate their strength and potential to the world. The intention of this project is to empower girls to utilize videography to raise scholarship funds to remove financial barriers to completing secondary education.
