Provide Warmth for Families

Help provide blankets to families this winter.

Located in the southern part of the country, Bangalore is known as the "Silicon Valley of India". With a population of over 8.5 million people, impoverished families migrate from their villages in search of work. Many of these families live in tents, sleeping directly on the hard ground, without blankets. Temperatures in Bangalore fall to the 50's in the winter months, with December being the coldest month. These families do not have warm clothes or socks. All they have for warmth is each other.

Every year, staff from our partner organization, Rippled Purpose, distributes blankets to families living in the slums of Bangalore. Each wool blanket is large enough to provide warmth for one parent and two children.

July 2017

Donors like you helped provide blankets to Anitha and her siblings (pictured right). Anitha's bright smile is so contagious. You'd never know she lives in a tent and that the tattered clothes she wears are the only ones she owns. Inside her family's tent there are no beds, no pillows, just hard ground. Anitha's parents work construction from 6 am until 6 pm - Monday through Saturday. It's a harsh and dangerous life. Thanks to donors like you, her life has gotten a little brighter. Anitha's smile when she's singing and dancing at school says it all.
