Improve Pet Adoption Rates through Photography

Give shelter animals the edge they need to find forever homes through the use of positive photography.

One of the main roadblocks standing between shelter pets and adoption is a good photograph. Each year in the United States, an estimated 8 million pets are processed into animal shelters. Nearly half of these animals are not adopted.

Animals arriving at shelters are often dirty, disoriented, and understandably frightened. A photo is taken as part of the intake process, and more times than not captures the animal in this anxious, unappealing state. Unfortunately, this is the photo that potential adopters see online. It is not a photo that speaks to the true character of the animal.

A depressing photo taken with an older camera will not give these animals the edge they need to get adopted.
